While Heather traveled to Milford to keep Pa company, Amy and I took custody of five kids today (Maya, Jonah plus our own). Not quite at the level of the Baker family from Cheaper By the Dozen, but pretty close to halfway!
Anyway, after a fun pancake breakfast morning, we trekked out to the wooded outer boundaries of Glastonbury to see if we could find some letterboxes. Although a couple of compass readings were required (with a compass that had very questionable accuracy), we successfully found both boxes we were looking for and made our entries in their log books. This was the first letterboxing expedition for Maya and Jonah and they had a blast!
On the way back to the van we spotted some pretty cool-looking caves, so we did some very mild spelunking. Not something you get to do every day! A round of hot chocolate (with whipped cream and marshmallows, of course) topped off a fantastic letterboxing mission.
