The K-Crew decided that Owen's chess genius had been kept under wraps long enough.
Yesterday, we let Owen loose on the local chess community and registered him for the 2011 Glastonbury Schools Intradistrict Chess Championships. The tournament showcased Glastonbury's talent for grades 1st through 6th.
I never did find out where Owen placed. I do know he placed outside the top ten since he didn't get a trophy, but he did manage to bring home a medal and a tournament scorecard with 2 wins, 1 loss and 1 stalemate (which counts as a tie). That's a score of 2.5 out of a possible 4.0. Not too shabby!
