The two teams launched their opening salvo's yesterday and the Highlanders simply picked up where they left off in June by executing a coordinated, strategic effort to pick up a narrow win on Day #1. It was a balanced attack with J-Dog logging 8 and Coach covering 7.8.
The "strategic, coordinated" approach won't be an option for South Side this month due to Sourdough's C.U.P. status, as demonstrated yesterday with K-Law running 10.4 and Sourdough tossing in 4.
The 15.8 to 14.4 Apple Hill win was closer than analysts expected. But as Gorilla Monsoon used to say, close is only good enough in horseshoes and hand grenades. And in stark contrast to their start in June, the Highlanders kick off the competition with a 1-0 lead.
