This morning I ran what I now refer to as the "Super Loop" which starts with the long climb South on Route 17, starting near Anna's on Main restaurant, a left onto Foote, a right onto Matson Hill, a trip up and down Belltown Hill, a right back onto Matson, a left onto Hopewell, a right onto Sunset, left onto Chestnut, left onto Route 17 and back to the start. It's a total of about 9 miles and there are plenty of hills to tackle with precious little in the way of flat straightaways. I covered it in 1 hour and 2 minutes today. That's about a 6:50 pace, which is fine given the route's profile. But if I want to break that 2:50 barrier at Albany at the end of February (which Sattler has dutifully pointed out is only 11 weeks from now) I'll have to start getting the body and mind used to training in the 6:30 pace neighborhood.
