Glastonbury runners know their hills. I can state with near-absolute certainty that if you live and train in Glastonbury then your daily training route includes at least one or two hills that runners from other Connecticut towns would consider legendary...the kind of hills that inspire scary campfire songs meant to frighten young children. Alright, maybe that's a bit dramatic, but I'm sure there is universal agreement among Glastonbury runners that we live in an awfully hilly town.
So...how does your favorite hill rank among the other monstrous inclines in town? Bart Allen, my training group's online research expert, has complied this spreadsheet which ranks the top 15 hills in Glastonbury based on steepness and length. A word of caution: you may be overwhelmed by how comprehensive this ranking is. It even comes complete with G-Maps of each hill. Thank you Bart, you have really outdone yourself on this one!
It looks like the Overlook Hill takes the crown, but there are plenty of other tough hills right on it's tail. Take a peak and make sure to include one or more of these nightmares on your next run.
