My Armstrong Showdown Training Log: 4.16.08

BookA solo run up in the South Glastonbury hills this morning.  I probably attacked the hills with a little more zest than I should have with the race so close, but this tapering stuff makes you a little antsy after a while.  The sense of anticipation (an even mix of excitement and dread) is definitely starting to build now with only 5 days to go.

I broke the 1,200 mile mark for Boston training this morning.  Geez, that's a lot of miles since January 1st.  I've decided that I can't put this much training into marathon preparation anymore.  I've got a family, a law practice to run and an 18th century house to maintain for crying out loud!  What have I been thinking?!  Perhaps after Boston I should focus on longevity instead of speed when it comes to marathon running.  I've been toying with the goal of running 50 marathons by age 50.  Boston will be my 25th marathon and I'm 35 now.  Hmmm...

Anyway, 8.2 miles today at 7:13 pace.  Only 3 workouts left!
