Race #1 is a 5K which will take place on Saturday, July 10th at Smith Middle School. It's a relatively flat & fast, PR-friendly course located mostly in the Great Swamp neighborhood, near Addison Park. A beauty for first-time racers. And you'll love the gradual downhill finish! It'll be over before you know it. Click here for the course map.
Race #2 is a 4.5-miler on Saturday, July 17th at Addison Park. It's a mildly challenging course with an adventurous Indiana Jones-like one-mile stretch that is on trails behind Smith Middle School. Very cool. Except for the active black fly population in the woods...that's not very cool. Strong bug spray is recommended. Click here for the course map.
Race #3 is a 10K on Saturday, July 24th at Nayaug School. This is a very scenic course that runs along the Connecticut River and through the storied Tryon Street / Ferry Street neighborhoods. Cute old houses, ancient tobacco barns, river views, the works! But enjoy the scenery while you can because delirium is guaranteed to set in as you climb the dreaded "Old Maid's Hill" (mountain?), which is a steep climb just past the 5-mile mark. It really is horrible, I'm not kidding. So make sure your training includes hills! Click here for the course map.
