Awards will be doled out based on your overall performance throughout the series. So no awards ceremony until after the third and final race on July 24th.
For the overall male and female awards, the top ten finishers will be awarded points. 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd place gets 9 points, all the way down to 10th place which earns one point.
In tallying the scores for each age group, the top three finishers will get points: 3 points for 1st place, 2 points for 2nd place and 1 point for 3rd place.
Age groups (male and female) are 18-and under, 19 to 29, 30 to 39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-and-over.
Standings will be posted on this website after each of the first two races.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the event of a tie (overall or age group) the tie-break deciding factors will be as follows, in the following order:
1. The best runner in any head-to-head results wins the tie. This will be based on an analysis of both place and time-based margin of victory in each of the three races. If the results of that analysis are inconclusive (for example, no head-to-head results)...
2. The runner who completed the most number of races in the series wins the tie. And if that doesn't do it...
3. Runner who loathes the Boston Red Sox the most wins the tie! This will be determined by essay submissions and oral testimony before a panel of race organizers. Let's hope it doesn't come to this.
